Healthcare Ethics and Policy: Foundations for Nursing Advocacy

This graduate-level course equips nurses to analyze ethical issues and shape health policy across clinical, organizational, and community settings. The first three weeks ground students in core healthcare ethics, principles, decision-making frameworks, professional codes, and public health ethics. The course then explores the U.S. legislative and regulatory systems; the health policy cycle; major U.S. reforms; international health policy and governing bodies; and practical strategies for communicating with policymakers. Prerequisite: 514.
