CACREP Accreditation

The Educational Doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision is accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP).

As a Viterbo University degree program, the doctoral program is also accredited by the Higher Learning Commission.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Educational Doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision is to prepare graduates to work as advanced practitioners, educators, supervisors, and advocates in a diverse society. The doctoral program seeks to meet the growing need for highly qualified counselor leaders and scholars in a variety of settings. 

Delivery

Within a collaborative cohort model students will take courses in sequence throughout the three to four-year program consisting of approximately 6-9 credits per semester. This unique learning experience provides doctoral students early experiential learning with a continuous integration of theory and practice. The program entails a systemic approach to knowledge and skill acquisition.
